Coventry City U18's went down to a late defeat against Huddersfield Town
On a cold morning at the Alan Higgs Centre, City were bright early on with Ben Maund reacting to a Baker-Richardson flick and forcing a save out of Ed Wilczynski.
Huddersfield reacted with a corner, shots from Duane Holmes and Goddard before Paul Mullin rose to flick home a header in the 28th minute to give the young Terriers the lead.
It was a lead that lasted eleven minutes as Ben Maund, who had one shot saved, created space and hit a suoerb right footed shot low into the net.
Four minutes into the second half and the lively Sky Blues attacked with a great run and shot from Jordan Forrester.
In the 57th minute, Ryan Quinn was played in and hit a right footed shot which was going into the net before Joe Wilkinson cleared off the line.
Huddersfield, enjoying a spell of pressure, forced the capable Luke Bromley to clear off his line in the 71st minute.
In the last minute of normal time, City's hopes of a point ended when substitute Jakes Charles drilled home a low shot to condemn City to defeat.
