Coventry City U18's played well in the first but not so in the second but still beat Colchester United 3-1.

On a sunny lunchtime at the Alan Higgs, City took the lead in the sixth minute with a lovely curling shot from the edge of the area by Dan Smith.

Six minutes later and City had a second goal when Jordan Shipley got through after good work from Dagri Montsanga who fed Jordan Shipley, who then hit a thunderbolt from the edge of the area powerfully into the net.

City, playing some excellent passing football, kept the visiting keeper busy but thirteen minutes into the second half, Colchester got the luck of the green due to an assistant not being up with play and their number 9 swept home from six yards.

Both sides had chances with Sambou heading against the bar late on and in the third minute of stoppage time, Bas Sambou got through and slipped the ball past the keeper to give City a 3-1 win
