Ticket Sales So Far Unaffected By King Signing

Rather than a boycott over the signing of Marlon King, ticket sales are being reported as being slightly up as Saturday's home league game against Preston North End looms large, but that appears more to do with the Sky Blues winning at Bristol City on Saturday than anything else.

Speaking to the CT, Stephen Ebanks from the Ricoh Arena's Ticket Department said: "Ticket sales haven't settled into a pattern yet this season so we can't really point to whether we've seen a jump ahead of this weekend's game.

"We've had the opening day, a televised game and then a derby match - all of which see slightly unusual ticket sales.

"Even before the signing on Monday, there was a strong increase on Sunday night via the website - we believe on the back of such a good result against Bristol City on Saturday.

"But it's still too early to say whether there will be an above average crowd. We'd like one, obviously, because the more home fans the better it is for the team.

"The walk-up on Saturday could be big but it's worth pointing out that supporters can take advantage of cheaper prices if they buy in advance."
