Proposals For City Supporters To Use Ricoh South Stand

Coventry City supporters could have use of a block in the South Stand in order to watch games from, depending on a decision by the Stadium Advisory Group.

The club have said that they understand that supporters do like the view behind the goal and have said in the Updated Season Ticket Q&A that they will work with the SCG to present their proposals to the SAG:

"We are also working the Supporters Consultative Group on options regarding a partial opening of the South Stand to present our proposals to the independent Safety Advisory Group – we will keep fans informed of any development with this. If this option becomes available, we will move fans who have already purchased a Season Ticket elsewhere to that area for free- should they wish to do so.

"We cannot take a decision ourselves to open the South Stand to home fans. This is a decision which has to be approved by the independent Safety Advisory Group. It is also their decision on the amount of segregation and netting which we have to have between home and away fans.

"The Safety Advisory Group (SAG) is an independent safety group who are made up of the relevant safety authorities- including several sections of Coventry City Council, West Midlands & Warwickshire police, fire service, ambulance service etc.

"We are, together with the SCG, putting forward a proposal to open up block 11 in the South Stand to home supporters. This would be a Season Ticket holder and pre-sold area only, so wouldn’t be available to buy on the day.

"We hope the SAG approves our plan, and if they do we will make this area available to Season Ticket holders to move into."
