The referee is Mark Clattenburg. His assistants are D.Bryan and C.Sarginson. The fourth official is Phil Joslin.

The Tyne & Wear based referee has been controversial this season. Both David Moyes and Sir Alex Ferguson face FA Disciplinary Hearings after being unhappy with his actions. So far this season, Mr Clattenburg has been in charge of twelve matches and has issued 39 yellow cards and three reds, two of which were in the Merseyside derby on October 20th, a game which saw Mr Clattenburg suspensed for one match.
