ON THE GAME
Iain Dowie paid tribute to Ipswich boss and good mate Jim Magilton. He told the club website: "Jim is Godfather to my son, William, so there is a bit of split loyalties there. "He's a top-class person and I think he's done a real good job under difficult circumstances at Ipswich. He's hasn't had a lot of money to spend so he's had to wheel and deal in the transfer market - and he does that with a smile and a certain façade considering his son has had a bad time with an illness for the last couple of years. "I've got a lot of time for him - he is one of the game's good guys.

"He has got his team playing for each other and they have always been a side who like to pass the ball around. I would like to think we are the same in the way that we want to play an attractive game. "So we must be aware of their passing and movement, in Alan Lee they have a big threat upfront and Pablo Counago is a very clever player who sits in the hole behind him. In midfield, Owen Garvan has a sweet left-foot and Gary Roberts gives them a lot of pace down the left side."
