ON THE GAME
Iain Dowie told the CT: "Marcus Hall and Stephen Hughes are the jokers in the camp and there is a wonderful spirit about the place. "We always felt we had the right balance of people here and it is just that people react to results because that's the way it is. "We had some doom and gloom merchants not too many games ago but there aren't too many about now.

"So given the financial constraints I think the lads deserve a massive pat on the back. "We have had some good local derbies and hopefully they will bring a few fans and I certainly hope we have a few after the run of results we have had. "If we win the game we go above them, so that's a carrot for us and all if a sudden the glass is half full rather than half empty.

"They are a good side and I know we are going to have to be on out mettle against a very good side with pace, quality, skill and people who can hurt you at key moments. "They have got a big strong squad. Jonathan Greening is an outstanding player in this division.

"Ishmael Miller has done well and Kevin Phillips has got goals. "They have got Dean Kiely who is very experienced, Zoltan Gera and Chris Brunt who is a £3 million signing and very good player."
