Maddison Happy With His Goal

Cov Kid James Maddison said he was happy with his goal for City U21's last night in the 2-0 win at Queens Park Rangers.

Maddison, who came on during the first team's defeat at Crewe on Saturday and played for the U21's scoring in the 58th minute, told Keiran Crowley: "I'm very happy with the goal. I've only ever scored one goal for the Under-21s so it is something I'm looking to improve on. Also, it was good to score from open play. I score a lot of set pieces but I want to improve my open play tally.

"I'm enjoying this season but I'm keeping my feet firmly on the ground. When you step up, you don't want to see players go 'big-time' and I'm making sure I work just as hard for the Under-18s as I do any other level."
