In a quick return 'leg' the Coventry Bees travelled to Wolverhampton for an Elite League match, bouyed by a good win over the Wolves at Brandon on Friday night.

Sadly for the Bees Przemyslaw Pawlicki sustained a back injury at the weekend putting him out of tonight's meeting, and sadly this proved to be a telling omen for the meeting as the Bees tracked Arron Summers as a replacement in the reserve berth.

The match started badly for the Bees with two 5-1's conceded in the first two heats, which were followed by 4 drawn heats. Heat 7 provided some hope for Coventry as Ed Kennett and Ben Barker gated well and romped home for a heat maximum, and with a 4-2 advantage to the Bees in the following heat the progressive score on the night was down to 2 points.

The gap remained at 2 points until heat 10 when the same Bees pairing sadly fell to a 5-1 for the Wolves, despite some very hard and close racing from Ed Kennett.

Despite narrowing the gap back to 4 points in heat 11, the Bees suffered two consecutive 4-2 reverses which meant that going into the final heat the Bees trailed by 46 points to 38, with the difference between the two sides being clearly at reserve, the Coventry pair gaining 2 points against the Wolves reserve pairing who scored 10 between them.

The final match score was Wolverhampton 50 Coventry 40, with the Bees scorers shown below:

1. Krzysztof Kasprzak 1,2,3,2 = 8
2. Lewis Bridger 0,1',3,1 = 5+1
3. Ben Barker 0,2',0,2 = 4+1

5. Chris Harris 3,3,3,0,2 = 11
6. Josh Auty 1,0,0,0 = 1
