Weaver New Blaze Captain

Jonathan Weaver takes over the captaincy of the Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey teamfrom the departed Adam Calder.

The Great Britain captain joined the club at the start of the 2007/08 season and has now played 200 games for the Blaze, scoring 61 goals and adding 176 assists.

In his time at the club, Weaver who has also won a string of personal awards, has landed two Elite League titles and one Knockout Cup title.

He becomes the sixth club captain, following in the footsteps of Steve
Chartrand, Michael Tasker, Ashley Tait, Sylvain Cloutier and Adam Calder.

Weaver's two Assistant Captains will be announced in due course.
