Warwickshire County Cricket Club went down to defeat in a Friends Provident Trophy game against Leicestershire at Edgbaston.

The weekend's rain meant that the pitch took its time to dry out and play did not start until late afternoon with both sides having 23 overs each.

The visitors batted first and were 148-6 in their alloated overs. Jacques Du Tait top scored with 34.

Warwicks struggled when they batted. Coventrian Ian Bell only made three whilst his England colleagues Tim Ambrose made 28 and Darren Maddy 29. Wickets tumbled quickly and Warwicks were all out for 103, some 45 runs short of the total.
