Warwicks Win In Pro 40 Game

Warwickshire County Cricket Club beat Northamptonshire in a Pro 40 game tonight at Edgbaston.

Warwicks batted first and although they lost Neil Carter for eleven, Jon Trott and Jim Troughton put on 178 for the second wicket with Troughton the man out for 87.

Darren Maddy added 38 but Trott continued to make a century before being caught by Lucas off the bowling of Hall for 108 in 112 balls which included 14 fours and one six in the final over of a total which closed at 271-4.

Northamptonshire made 79 before Neil Carter took the first wicket. Peters made 53, Wright made 62 and Wessels 54 but Warwicks kept the bowling tight and Northampton finished five runs short of the total after completing their forty overs.

The sides meet tomorrow morning in a County Championship game at Edgbaston.
