Warwicks Tie

Warwickshire County Cricket Club tied their second Twenty/20 game against Gloucestershire at Bristol.

Gloucester batted first and started well. The first wicket was on sixty before Ant Botha took the first of three wickets. Marshall was next to go being stumped by Frost for 46. Taylor and Gidman also lost their wickets as they took their total to 158-4. Warwicks had Poonia lbw on the first ball of their innings. Neil Carter, Jim Troughton, Tim Groenewald and Tony Frost who top scored with 56 took the innings onto 154-6 with one ball to go. Ian Westwood hit a four and the match was drawn.

Ian Bell had top scored for Warwickshire at Glamorgan on Wednesday and today for England, the Coventrian was in fine form hitting sixty not out as England beat New Zealand by nine wickets in a Twenty/20 international at Old Trafford.

His fellow Warwickshire team mate Tim Ambrose took a catch,a stumping and a run out as the Kiwis were finished on 123-9.

England went into bat and lost Luke Wright for 24. However, Bell and Pietersen took over and Bell hit the winning runs with nine balls to spare.
