Warwicks In Deep Trouble After Defeat

Warwickshire County Cricket Club are in deep trouble after letting Surrey get a nine wicket victory at Edgbaston in a County Championship trouble.

Set 178 to win with a day to get the runs, Newman made 87 before he was caught by Tim Ambrose off the bowling of Woakes with the score on 149.

He was the only batsman to lose his wicket as Batty (68 not out) and Rampaskash (15 not out) scored the runs which helps ease Surrey's relegation worries but worsens Warwickshire's who are now twenty points behind the Londoners with a game to play.

Kent are 29 points behind Warwicks but after two games to play,whilst bottom club Worcestershire have been relegated for a couple of weeks
