Warwicks Get A Tie

Warwickshire County Cricket Club tied their PR040 game with Northamptonshire at Northampton.

The home side batted first and had Andrew Hall made 104 from 115 balls hitting eight fours and two sixes whilst Nice Boje added 44.

Northamptonshire lost six wickets in their total of 212-6 from their forty overs. Stefan Piolet took 3-34 off seven overs whilst Shanthakumaran Sreesanth took 2-34 in eight overs.

Neil Carter was first out when Warwicks batted for eight runs. James Ord made 27 before he was bowled by Monty Panesar who caught Jim Troughton after the Stratford man had made 33.

Ian Bell cracked seven fours in an innings of 65 as Tim Ambrose added 29 and Rikki Clarke 27.

Former Warwicks player took three wickets as Warwicks neared the total of 213 to win.

Stefan Piolet hit a four to leave Warwicks on 212 and needing one run from two balls. The first failed to produce a run and the second saw Piolet run out as the match finished in a draw.

On Wednesday, Warwicks are back to County Championship action with a vital game against Worcestershire at Edgbaston. Play is due to start at 10.30am and commentary is available on the BBC Coventry & Warwickshire website.
