Warwicks Caned By Kaneria

Warwickshire County Cricket Club were dismissed for 154 in only 56.2 overs when play finally got under way in the County Championship game with Essex at Edgbaston.

With two days of this four day match contest already lost to the weather, Kaneria ripped through the Warwickshire batsmen taking 6-48 in eighteen overs.




Those dimissed by Kaneria were top scorer Darren Maddy who had made 47, Trott,Troughton, Frost,Woakes and Salisbury,

Wright took the wickets of Westwood (40), Carter and Rankine with Napier taking out Poonia who had been the first Warwickshire player to lose his wicket.

In reply, Essex were 38-2 at the close. Woakes and Rankine each took a wicket.
