Jon Trott led the way on the second day of Warwickshire's County Championship game at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.

Warwicks resumed after yesterday's washout on 30-0 but lost first Tony Frost and then Ian Westwood with only five runs added to that total.

Ian Bell, who is first in line to replace Kevin Pietersen in the England team, faired no better making only seven but Jon Trott grasped the mantle as Troughton and Ambrose both went cheaply.

Rikki Clarke chipped in with 46 and Ant Botha 44 as Trott passed the century mark hitting 14 fours from 166 balls.

He finished the day, 140 not out with Chris Woakes on 77 not out as Warwicks closed on 383-7.
