Midland Football Alliance side Coventry Sphinx are through to the last 32 of the FA Vase after a 4-0 win against Oldbury United.

In a performance which manager Paul Charnley described as "the best of the season", Sphinx were three goals up at the break.

Jimmy Halton gave Sphinx the lead in the 28th minute against an Oldbury side which had won earlier in the season 4-1 at Sphinx Drive.

Debutant James Mace added a second in the 33rd minute before Casey Caggini scored ten minutes later for Sphinx who have never before got this far in the FA Vase.

A fine victory and a place in Monday's draw, was completed when Jerome Murdock scored a fourth in the 69th minute.

Locally, Nuneaton Borough lost 1-0 at Blyth Spartans and Rugby Town drew 1-1 with Chesham.

All other local games were postponed
