Coventry Storm Speedway Team won 47-46 at Buxton Hitmen on Sunday afternoon in a National League meeting.

The Storm who used rider replacement for Joe Jacobs and had Ryan Terry Daley guesting, took a 3-3 in the opening heat before Daley and Fenwick rode to a 5-1.

Branford and Greenwood got in on the act with a 5-1 followed by the Hitmen replying with a 4-2 and Crang and Brandford riding for a 5-1 to put the Storm 20-10 up after five heats.

A 3-3 and a 4-2 to the Storm extended the lead to twelve points so Wright took a tactical ride and won for a 6-3 to Buxton.

Carr and Blacklock took heat nine 5-1 and this was followed by a 3-3 and a 5-1 to the Storm's Crang and Branford.

After a 3-3 in heat twelve, the Storm led by eleven. Buxton took heat thirteen 4-2, heat fourteen 5-1 and the final heat 4-2 to see the Storm win by a single point when a bigger margin of victory was probably deserved.
