Stoppage Time Try Defeats Cov Rugby

Coventry Rugby Club went down to a late 29-27 defeat to Cambridge this afternoon.

A bigger than usual crowd at the Butts Park Arena of 1,002 saw Murray give Coventry a fourth lead with a try.

Cambridge came back with Hipwell going over for an 11th minute try and Wheatcroft converting.

Luke Myring kicked two penalties only for Mogensen to score with a try at the other end.

Just before the break, a Read drop goal at Coventry 14-12 up at half-time.

In the 44th minute, Wheatcroft put Cambridge in front with a try. Myring kicked a penalty before converting after Daynes scored a 62nd minute try.

Three minutes later, and McComb ran in a try which Wheatcroft converted. Myring kicked another penalty and it looked like Coventry would take the win.

But in the eighth minute of stoppage time, Fidler went over for a try and Wheatcroft converted to condemn Coventry to a 27-29 defeat.
