In front of a typically enthusiastic and partisan crowd in Leszno, Poland the second round of this years Speedway Grand Prix series took place last night.

The first round had seen a sensation with Russian rider Emil Sayfutdinov winning the meeting, and this was shown to be no fluke as he finished the night in Poland on 9 points, alongside reigning world champion Nicki Pedersen who failed to progress from the semi-final stage.

For the Bees Chris Harris lined up alongside former captain Scott Nicholls.
With 8 points typically being the target to aim for over the programmed 5 rides to progress to the semi-final stage, Chris began with 3 popints from his first 2 rides - the first of which he trailed the Polish duo of Holta and Hampel. Now the Poles usually do well on their own tracks, none more so that Polish national hero Tomasz Gollob.
So So with 5 points the target over the next 3 heats Chris wasn't able to get these on the card, finishing the night on a total of 5 points.

Scott on the other hand had a night to forget, his efforts returning a solitary point.

The meeting was won by Jason Crump, who now leads the championship standings, followed by Tomasz Gollob and Andreas Jonssson.

The grand prix series moves on to the Gothenburg stadium, Sweden on 30th May.
