Rugby Town Through On Penalties

Rugby Town went into the FA Cup First Qualifying Round with a 4-3 penalties in a Preliminary Round Replay at Norton United.

Rugby fell behind but levelled through Seb Lake-Gaskin before they had Lewis McBride sent off just before half-time. There were no further goals and the tie went to extra time and then penalties.

Rugby kept their nerve against the team which had beaten Southam United and won 4-2 on spot kicks to earn a trip to Nantwich in the next round.

In the Midland Combinaton Premier Division, the big Coventry derby saw Coventry Copsewood draw 2-2 with Alvis. Atherstone lost 4-2 at home to Brocton, Racing Club Warwick lost 2-1 at home to Earlswood but Southam United won 5-3 at Pershore Town and Nuneaton Griff won 3-2 at Bolehall Swifts.
