Coventry's Scott Rand was beaten in the Semi-Final of the Cash Converters Players Darts Championship at Doncaster this afternoon.
The 37 year old Lorry Driver, was 3-1 down to James Wade in the Quarter-Final but fought back to win 9-5 and book his place in the Semi-Final against Kevin Painter.
Rand (pictured below) was hoping that winning this tournament which saw Phil The Power Taylor go out early, would allow him to play darts on a full time basis.
However, despite an heroic performance, he went down 10-9 despite hitting four 180s and twelve 140's.
