Coventry Blaze won 4-3 after penalties at Cardiff Devils on Saturday night.

The Blaze travelled to Cardiff and were a goal down on 2.44 when Tomas Kurka scored assisted by Jake Morrisette and Max Birbraer.

On 5.35, Cardiff scored a second goal thanks to a scramble and a finish from Andrew Lord.

Zacharias in the Blaze goal made some good saves but on 18.34, he could not handle a Kurka shot and Jake Morrisette fired home the loose puck.

What Blaze Coach Marc Lefebvre said in the locker room is probably best left there but in the second period, Coventry Blaze were a far better team.

Coventry pulled a goal back fifty three seconds into the second period when Cale Tanaka scored, assisted by Russ Cowley, who scored a second on 45.47, assisted by 14 Cale Tanaka and Ryan Ginand.

Blaze were the better team and on 46.40, they tied the game at 3-3 thanks to a goal from Michael Henrich, assisted by Steven Chalmers and Ashley Tait.

With no more goals, the game went to a penalty shoot out and Ginand and Faulkner had their shots saved. Henrich and Kurka scored from their shots but Tait and Birbraer missed, meaning it was sudden death.

Ryan Ginand went first and scored. Faulkner went for Cardiff but hit the post and the Blaze took the win.
