Coventry Blaze were beaten 6-1 at home by Nottingham Panthers in a Challenge Cup fixture.
The Panthers took the lead on 9.57 with a powerplay goal from Leigh Salters before Lynn Lyons scored a second twenty six seconds into the second period.
Lyons scored again on 22.08 and on 30.18, it was four when Robert Lachowicz netted.
Kevin Harvey scored for the Blaze on 42.55, assisted by Ashley Tait and Adam Henrich but a David Clarke powerplay goal on 53.47 and Nick Anderson on 54.13 condemned the Blaze to defeat.
