Olympic Torch Comes To Coventry

The Olympic Torch comes to Coventry this Sunday.

The Torch relay will arrive in the War Memorial Park for an events which starts at 4.30pm after the Godiva Festival finishes.

The flame is due to arrive in the park at 6.50pm and a cauldron will be lit five minutes later.

Admission to the Memorial Park is free.

The torch stays in its hometown over-night and leaves Millennium Place by the Transport Museum at 7am on July 2nd, It goes under the Whittle Arch and then right into Priory Street, up the Cathedral steps and under arches and along Trinity Churchyard.

A left turn into Broadgate and then in Hales Street, before passing the Council House and down Earl Street, Jordan Well and Gosford Street onto Sky Blue Way and then the Binley Road.

It will then carry on down onto Brandon Road and finishes at the second roundabout at the junction with Herald Way at 8am.

If you are off to work on Monday in town or need to get to the station etc, you are advised to find another route.
