Nuneaton Win But Leamington Draw

Nuneaton Town kept up their winnings ways with a Conference North victory this afternoon.

Nuneaton beat Stalybridge Celtic 2-1 with Lee Moore putting Nuneaton ahead in the 40th minute and Kyle Storer adding a second in the 59th minute. Jennings pulled one back in the 73rd minute but Nuneaton were worthy winners.

Nuneaton are fifth in the Conference North table on eleven points, four behind unbeaten Alfreton Town who have signed Coventry City trialist Conor Franklin from Hinckley United.

In the Southern League, Leamington were held to a 0-0 draw by Chippenham Town in front of a crowd of 463.

In the FA Cup, Rugby Town drew 1-1 with Atherstone Town, Stratford Town lost 3-1 at Tipton Town, Bedworth United beat Dudley Town 6-1 whilst Nuneaton Griff lost 5-0 at Newcastle Town.

In the Les James Memorial Cup, Coventry Amatuers and Leamington Hibernian both went down to defeat.

Coventry Copsewood won 6-0 at Racing Club Warwick in a Midland Combination Premier Division game with Curtis Jackson hitting a hat-trick.

Southam United won 2-1 at Walsall Wood but Massey Ferguson went down to a 4-0 defeat at Pelsall Villa and Alveston were beaten 4-1 at home by Continental Star.

Kenilworth Town beat Droitwich Spa 5-0 whilst Coventry Sphinx bsed Young Warriors beat Cadbury Athletic Reserves 4-2.
