Nuneaton Win But Bedworth Lose

Nuneaton Town got back three of the six points deducted for failing to supply the Football Conference and Football Association with the paperwork for the loan of Andy Brown, with a 2-1 home win over Altrincham.

Danny Glover opened the scoring in the 34th minute for Nuneaton and although the South Manchester side levelled in the 54th minute through Damien Reeves, Simon Forsdick scored three minutes later to give Nuneaton the win.

Bedworth United went down to a 1-0 defeat at Chertsey Town. Blount scored the only goal of the game in the third minute.

Rugby Town drew 3-3 with Fleet Town at Butlin Road. Lake-Gaskin scored twice to put VS two goals up in the opening twenty minutes only for Davis, Watkins and Scott to have the visitors ahead by the 55th minute mark.

Four minutes from time, Booth snatched an equaliser to give Rugby a point.

In the Midland Alliance, Coventry Sphinx beat Loughborough Students 2-1 to keep pace with leaders Westfields who beat Stratford Town 1-0. Atherstone Town lost 3-1 at Highgate.

In the Midland Combination Premier Division, Coventry Copsewood drew 1-1 with Nuneaton Griff. Racing Club Warwick won 2-1 at Brocton and Southam United drew 2-2 at Pershore.

In Division One, Alvis beat Fairfield Villa 3-0.

In Division Two, it was defeats all round, Coventry Spartans lost 4-0 at Perrywood, FC Stratford lost 2-1 at Enville and Leamington Hibernian lost 2-1 at Barton United.
