Nuneaton Thrashed At Home

Nuneaton Town were hammered 5-0 at home by Luton Town.

The Conference leaders brought with them a great following which gave Nuneaton a gate of 3,480, their biggest crowd of the season.

it was a day that the visitors to The Sperrin Stadium enjoyed as Paul Benson fired The Hatters ahead in the 34th minute.

In the second half, Andre Gray scored a second in the 64th minute from a cross from Luke Guthridge who added a third in the 70th minute.

Paul Benson headed home his second goal in the 81st minute and it was a header four minutes later that saw Jake Howells score a fifth for Luton Town.

Rugby Town extended their lead at the top of the Southern League Central Division with a 4-0 win over Leighton Town at Butlin Road.

Seb Lake-Gaskin sent Rugby on their way with a penalty before Lewis McBride scored a second in the second half. David Kolodynski netted a third and Lake-Gaskin finished off a fine performance with a fourth goal.

Stratford Town won 4-2 at Bishops Cleeve. Stratford trailed 1-0 at the break but Gregory levelled before Jamie Sheldon scored twice and Recci added a fourth.

Bedworth United lost 2-0 to Leek Town at The Oval. Kinsley scored twice for the visitors.

In the Midland Combination Premier Division, Southam United won 3-0 Blackwood, Atherstone lost 2-1 at Bromsgrove, Nuneaton Griff won 2-1 at Littleton, Coventry Copsewood won 3-0 at Pilkington, Racing Club Warwick lost 1-0 at home to Studley.

In the Midland Combination Division Two, Austrey Rangers won 5-0 at Inkberrow, Coventry United won 5-1 at Polesworth, Kenilworrth won 3-2 at Northfield but FC Stratford lost 2-1 at home to Enville Athletic and Leamington Hibernian lost 2-1 at Rostance Edwards.
