Nuneaton Keep Up Play-Off Push

Nuneaton Town kept up their push for promotion from the Conference North with a 2-1 victory over Workington this afternoon.

Spencer had Nuneaton ahead after 11 minutes and former City youngster Robert Oddy added a second in the 71st minute of the game at Liberty Way.

Murray-Jones pulled one back for the Cumbrians in the 79th minute but Nuneaton took the points to move eleven behind leaders Alfreton who lost 2-1 at Gloucester City.

Leamington's hope of promotion to the Conference League suffered a set back when they lost 3-1 at Truro City. Stanley put the Brakes ahead in the 25th minute but a 925 strong crowd saw Afful equalise in the 49th minute and then Taylor put Truro 2-1 up in the 77th before Afful hit the third of the game three minutes from time. 

Second half goals from Cartwright and Ramsey gave Bedworth a 2-1 win over Marlow, whilst Rugby Town won 3-2 at Bedfont Town with two from Hamilton and one from Wesley in a match which saw all the goals in the first half.

Atherstone Town lost 3-1 at home to Ashford Town (Middlesex).

Michael Beckley hit a first half hat-trick as Stratford Town won 4-3 at Ellesmere Rangers, whilst former Sphinx duo Jermaine Murdock and Callum Woodward scored for Coalville Town in a 2-0 win over Midland Alliance leaders Tipton Town.

In the Midland Combination Premier Division, Massey Ferguson won 5-0 at Alveston with Prescod scoring twice and goals for Chesters, an own goal and Semper.

Coventry Copsewood lost 4-3 at Brocton with Ross Wimbush and a brace from Curtis Jackson on the mark for Carl Nolan's side.

Nuneaton Griff won 6-0 at Pelsall Villa and the biggest crowd of the day - 105 saw Southam United beat Racing Club Warwick 2-1.

In Division One, Kenilworth Town beat Burntwood 6-2, while in Division Two, Leamington Hibernian drew 4-4 with Enville Ath and Young Warriors beat Knowle Reserves 2-0.

In Division three, Coventry Amateurs lost 3-0 at Lichfield City Reserves whilst Stratford Town lost 3-1 at home to Aston.
