Nuneaton Hit For Five In Local Derby

Nuneaton Town were unduly hammered 5-2 on the opening day of 2012 with a home defeat to Hinckley United.

A crowd of 1372 saw Hinckley, who are fourth from bottom in the Conference North table, take a second minute lead through Lavery following an Alcock error at a corner.

Former Coventry City youngster Andy Gooding made it 2-0 to Hinckley in the 15th minute and six minutes later, the home support were stunned when Belcher hit a third.

Gareth Dean pulled one back for Kevin Wilkin's side in the 47th minute before Andre Gray restored Hinckley's three goal lead in the 58th minute.

Belcher made it five for Hinckley with a 72nd minute penalty and although former Coventry City youngster Adam Walker pulled another goal back for Nuneaton in the 84th minute, Nuneaton's run of nine unbeaten league games was over.
