Nuneaton Go Out Of FA Trophy

Nuneaton Town were beaten 1-0 at AFC Telford in an FA Trophy game this afternoon.

Steve Leslie scored the only goal of the game in the 18th minute when his shot was allowed to trickle in to the net.

Former Coventry City defender David McNamee came on at half-time for Nuneaton, replacing the injured Tom James but Nuneaton could not get a goal back and went down to defeat in front of a crowd of 737.

Leamington's Southern League Premier Division game at Weymouth was postponed with the Brakes halfway to the South West.

Rugby Town beat Fleet Town 2-0 in a Southern League Central Division game. Rowley opened the scoring in the 29th minute with Blythe getting the second in stoppage time.

In the Midland Alliance, Stratford Town drew 2-2 with Dunkirk. Tyrone Fagan scored in the 39th and 79th minute for Stratford.

In the Midland Combination Premier Division, Atherstone Town won 5-1 at Bloxwich United but Nuneaton Griff were beaten 5-1 at home by Stafford Town.

In the Midland Combination Division 2, Leamington Hibernian won 1-0 at Clements 83.

In the Coventry Telegraph Cup, Alvis won 3-0 at Folly Lane. The Coventry Copsewood versus Southam game was postponed.
