On a fine sunny afternoon, Leamington FC  welcomed Stockport County on their first ever visit to the New.Windmill Ground.

It is still hard to believe that just twelve years ago they were in the First Division of the Football League and in front of a crowd of 1,048, the first half saw a lot of high balls booted out of defence . The only bad sight was Leamington Midfielder Lee Chilton stretched off with suspected Ligament damage .

The second half began with Stockport doing most of the attacking. The Hatters eventually took the lead in the 66th minute when Iain Howard dived to head the ball past Tony Breedon. Their lead lasted only for seven minutes thanks to Danny Newton latching on to a through ball and slipping the ball into the net.

The home supporters were in raptures in the 84th minute when Newton headed the ball in off the post to win the game for the Brakes.
