Nuneaton Bow Out Of FA Cup

Nuneaton Town bowed out of the FA Cup with a 1-0 defeat at Lincoln City.

The Football League side had Clark Ketie sent off but scored the only goal of the game in stoppage time through Albert Jarrett against a Nuneaton side which included former Sky Blues Adam Walker and Mark Noon.

The joint lowest ranked side in the competition Tipton Town were sunk by the might of Gary Madine. The former City Loanee scored four times for Carlisle United as they beat the Midland Alliance side 6-0.

Former City youngster Ben Mackey scored for Corby Town as they drew 1-1 with Richard Money's Luton Town.

The shocks saw Dover win at Gillingham, Tamworth beat Crewe 2-1 with a goal from former City trialist Danny Thomas, Darlington beat Bristol Rovers and draws against league opposition for Dartford, Fleetwood, Cambridge United, Vauxhall Motors, Woking and York, managed by former City Reserve team boss Gary Mills, to go with FC United's 3-2 victory at Rochdale on Friday night and Accrington beating Oldham.

Jerome Grandison was in Tranmere's squad but did not play in the 5-3 defeat at AFC Bournemouth and Shaun Jeffers played no part in Cheltenham's 1-0 win over Morecambe.

Locally, Leamington beat Evesham United with a 77th minute goal from Corbett in a Southern League game.

In the Central Division, Atherstone smacked Northwood 4-0 with a Smith hat-trick and a goal from Guiney. Bedworth lost 1-0 at home to Bedfont Town with a goal from Stanislaus in the 79th minute. But a goal from Keen and a Wesley brace gave Rugby Town a 3-1 win at Slough.

In the Midland Alliance, Stratford Town drew 2-2 with Alvechurch.

It was not a good day for our sides in the Midland Combination Premier Division. Coventry Copsewood lost 3-2 at Dosthill Colts, Massey Ferguson were hammered 7-0 at home by Castle Vale JKS, Nuneaton Griff lost 9-1 at home to Heather St John whilst Racing Club Warwick got a 4-4 draw at Pilkington and Southam drew at Cadbury.
