Nuneaton Beaten At Home

On a day where Crawley Town won the Conference title and booked their place in the Football League with a 3-0 win at Tamworth, Nuneaton Town lost ground in the Conference North play-off race when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Gainsborough.

Metham put the visitors ahead in the 23rd minute before Kyle Storer eqaulised in the 53rd minute. However, Kendall fired Gainsborough back in front in the 61st minute and they took the win to leave Nuneaton fourth in the table.

Nuneaton are fourteen points behind leaders Alfreton who won 1-0 at Solihull Moors.

Leamington beat Chesham 3-2 in a Southern League game. Brakes keeper Tony Breeden opened the scoring in the 16th minute before goals from Archer (49) and Lambert (61) had Chesham in front.

A Bartley own goal in the 76th minute but with six minutes left, Jacob Blyth delighted the majority of the 667 crowd when he scored to keep Leeamington in fifth place and in touch with leaders Truro City.

A goal from Weale in the 85th minute was Atherstone's only consolation in a 5-1 defeat at Biggleswade.

Rugby Town lost 3-1 at home to Arlesley whilst Bedworth United drew 0-0 at Woodford.

Stratford Town beat Loughborough Uni 2-0 in a Midland Alliance game.

Ross Wimbush (30 mins pen) and Dave Freeman scored for Coventry Copsewood in a 2-0 Midland Combination Premier Division win over Cadbury Athletic at Allard Way.

Racing Club Warwick drew 0-0 with Walsall Wood, Southam drew 1-1 with Dosthill Colts but Massey Ferguson won 4-2 at Pilkington XXX with goals from an Ibrahim Benjamin hat-trick and one for Semper.

Lower down the Comb, Kenilworth Town lost 3-2 at home to Shirley Town, Young Warriors won 4-1 at Cadbury Reserves, Leamington Hibernian lost 4-2 at Henley, Stratford Town A won 3-0 at Alveston Res and Coventry Amatuers lost 3-1 at home to Northfield Town Reserves.
