Nuneaton Beat League Leaders

Nuneaton Town put in a superb performance to beat Conference North leaders Hyde FC 2-0 at Liberty Way.

Former Coventry City young keeper Neil Collett saved a first half penalty before Wesley York fired Kevin Wilkin's side ahead.

In the second half, Danny Glover added a second on a day where most of Nuneaton's rivals failed to pick up points.

Leamington beat Cirencester Town 2-0 at the New Windmill. Hood hit the first in the 67th minute and Taylor added a second six minutes later.

Former Coventry City youngster Tom Bates scored for Bedworth United in their 3-2 win over Marlow. Bates opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time. The visitors levelled through Yarney in the 83rd minute. However, Bedworth hit back with goals from Luke Corbett (86) and Spencer (89) and although Herridge scored a second for Marlow in stoppage time, Bedworth had done enough to win.

Rugby Town were held to a 0-0 draw against Northwood and also in the Southern League Central Division,.former City youngster Ben Mackey scored for leaders St Neots in a 2-0 win at Chertsey.

In the Midland Alliance, Coventry Sphinx were kept off the top of the table on goal difference after they beat Studley 1-0 and leaders Westfields beat Boldmere 2-1.

Atherstone drew 0-0 at Alvechurch whilst Stratford Town won 3-0 at Coleshill with a brace for Chris Murphy and one for James Travis.

Racing Club Warwick won 4-3 at Stretton Eagles in the Les James Challenge Cup.

In the Midland Combination, Coventry Copsewood won 2-1 at Walsall Wood, Nuneaton Griff drew 1-1 at Brocton but Southam lost 2-1 at home to Bolehall Swifts.

In Division Two, Young Warriors game at Enville was abandoned due to a lack of fit players with Enville leading 1-0.

FC Stratford lost 4-0 to Greenhill whilst Leamington Hibernian drew 0-0 with Coventry Spartans.
