Coventry Bees have brought in world number three Niels-Kristian Iversen for Sunday's two meetings against Leicester in the East Midlands Bowl.

The first meeting in over thirty years between the Bees and Leicester starts at Brandon at noon with the second leg at the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium at 6pm.

Leicester have recruited Kenneth Bjerre, Hans Andersen and former Bees Krzysztof Kasprzak who is unlkely to get a warm welcome from the Bees support after his poor league form which saw him ousted

Coventry promoter Mick Horton said to the Bees official website: “I want to win these meetings, I’m sure our fans want to as well, and I want us to show Leicester it can be tough in the Elite League!

“They’ve shown plenty of ambition with the team line-up they’ve put together and I’m delighted to bring in another World-class rider in Niels which can only add to the entertainment in both meetings.

“We want to give the fans a day to enjoy and I really think this promises to be something quite special, especially with the historical rivalry between the clubs.”

Admission prices at Brandon on Sunday lunchtime are reduced from normal Elite League levels, being £15 for adults, £13 concessions, £5 children with under-11s free, and Coventry season tickets are valid.
