Coventry Storm will have Dane Stafan Nielsen as their new number one rider.
The 19 year old is a double British Under-19 Champion and has riden for Scunthorpe, Mildenhal and Somerset and will also ride for Belle Vue in the 2014 season.
He replaces Joe Jacobs who has returned to Mildenhall and Co-boss Blayne Scroggins said to the Coventry Bees website: “Joe is going to be a hard act to follow because he did such a great job last season, but we’re confident Stefan can do just that.
“I definitely think we’ve got a team that can make the play-offs - we just missed out after finishing fifth this year, so we feel we can make that step up and the boys are all confident they can do it. It’s an exciting team and we can’t wait to get started.
“I’d like to thank Rob Godfrey at Scunthorpe for his co-operation and also Laurence for his hard work to get this deal completed.”
The Storm, who will be sponsored by City Gearboxes, now have the following riders signed up for the 2014 season - Stefan Nielsen, James Sarjeant, Oliver Greenwood, Dan Greenwood, Luke Crang, Martin Knuckey, Ryan Terry-Daley.
