Coventry Jets American Football Team announced today that they will have a new home base for the 2012 BAFANL season. They will kick off next year’s campaign at the Rectory Fields home of Bedworth RFC. This is another step in reorganizing the club that is coming off a difficult 2011 season.

As well as playing all their home games there the Jets will also be making use of the floodlit training pitch. The club’s Commercial Manager Alan Steelsaid, “The facilities at Bedworth are superb with huge changing rooms, a weights room, two bars and a huge function room all at our disposal. We are confident this is the first step in our club rebuilding process and we are sure all teams who are part of the Jets organisation will be delighted with this development. Hopefully Bedworth will be our home for many years to come.”

The move to Bedworth will see the Jets play a home game outside of Coventry for the first time since 2007 when, en-route to the first of four consecutive National Championship games, they played at both Manor Park and Liberty Way in Nuneaton.

Adam Biggs, the Jets General Manager said, "Pinley RFC were great hosts and on behalf of the Jets family I like to thank them for all the help they gave. However with the growing number of members covering cadet flag to senior kitted level within the organisation reaching 100+, it made sense for us as a growing organisation to move to a better and larger facility. Bedworth RFC offers the Jets organisation excellent facilities that will help the club grow stronger for the future. All players and coaches are looking forward to working alongside Bedworth RFC for 2012 and beyond"

Jets Head Coach Paul Rickhuss expressed his delight saying,

I would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to Bedworth RFC for this opportunity, the facilities available to us here at Bedworth are excellent. I can foresee our budding relationship with them developing well over time. I’m really looking forward to playing our first home game of 2012 here.

Player reaction was extremely positive after their first training session at their new home Sam Johns who has graduated to the Senior team for next season said, “This place is just what we need it’s a good place for training and playing home games, with plenty of space and good facilities”.
