Marlon Can't Stop The Bolt

Marlon Devonish, finished behind Olympic Champion Usan Bolt in the 150m version of the Great Manchester Run this afternoon.

City supporting Devonish, who yesterday, was inducted into the Coventry Walk Of Fame, went into the second semi-final of the 150m race up Manchester High Street.

Usan Bolt who had met the Manchester United team at training on Friday and watched them collect the Premier League title against Arsenal, was given a bye into the final.

In pouring rain, Ivory Williams won the first heat and in the second semi-final, Devonish was up against Leevan Yearwood, Former West Ham Academy player Rikki Fifton and Jamican Xavier Brown.

Devonish started slow but put in a great finish to win in a time of 15.37 and book his place against Bolt in the final.



It was a final that saw Devonish take on Williams, Bolt and Rikki Fifton who was the fastest runner up.

Bolt, who has a slight injury, streaked away to win in a time of 14.36 and did the last 100m in 8.72 seconds whilst Devonish gave it his best shot with a cracking run to finish second in a time of 15.07. Williams was third with Fiffton fourth.
