Darren Maddy hit a century for Warwickshire on the third day of the Tour Match against Bangladesh A at Edgbaston.

His century came from 146 balls and saw Warwicks declare on 361-9 as soon as he became one hundred not out. Tim Gronevald made 78 with Coventrian Liam Parker making 33.

In reply, Bangladesh were 130-8,some 21 runs ahead and had struggled against the bowling of Lee Daggett who took four wickets before the match ended in a draw.

In the test match at Lords, South Africa were making a fight of it and a short while ago were 242-1 at the close with Smith out for 107 and McKenzie not out for 102.

There are plans for an English Cricket Premier League. Instead of the current counties taking part, nine franchises would be made available to cities and towns in England to take part in a 57 game tournament back by investment worth £50m.
