Darren Maddy made 29 and took a wicket as England crashed out of the Twenty/20 World Cup with an 18 run defeat to India.

India batted first and had Gambhir caught off the bowling of Maddy for 58. Sehwag chipped in with sixty.

The penultimate over proved to be one of the most memorable in international Twenty/20 history. Yuvraj smacked six sixes off the bowling of Stuart Broad. This gave him the fastest ever fifty (in twelve balls) and he went on to make 58 before being caught by Collingwood.

Chasing 219 to win, England made 53 before Maddy was caught by Gambhir. Solanki made 43 and Kevin Pietersen 39 but England could not make the required run rate and finished on 200-6 to lose the game and go out of the tournament at the Quarter-Finals stage.
