Lions Pride Too Much For Coventry Bears

Coventry Bears Rugby League team were beaten 18-14 at home by Featherstone Lions on Saturday afternoon.

At the Butts Park Arena, the Bears went behind in the sixth minute when Featherstone's Ricky Williams intercepted a Tim Stevens' pass on the 40m line and ran in for a try which was converted.

On the stroke of half-time, the Bears got on the board with a penalty kick by Stephen Coleman.

Five minutes into the second half, Coventry were 8-6 up when Christian Jacobs dived over and Stephen Coleman converted but seven minutes later, the Lions went back in front when Davi Garahan scored with a try which was converted.

Back came the Bears and in the 57th minute, Matt Cooper picked up Alex Brown's ball, broke a tackle and dived in for a try which was converted by Stephen Coleman.

But two minutes later, Ricky Williams scores for Featherstone and with Frankland converting, The Bears went down to an 18-14 defeat,
