Coventry Bears Rugby League club completed a double victory over Leicester Storm with a 46-16 victory yesterday.

The Bears did not let a very warm but muggy Coventry afternoon get to them and got stuck in the visitors, coached by former Coventry supremo Ty Watson.

They did concede the first try on seven minutes but this was not a taste of what was to come. Karl Wesley raced through in the 15th minute to scored for Coventry, followed by Nick Thatcher fifteen minutes later.

Wesley ran one in from the middle of the posts before Leicester scored a second try to see Coventry 14-10 ahead at the break.

Iestyn Pratt, who kicked five conversion, scored early in the second half with the visitors replying on the hour mark.

As you would expect in a local derby, there was plenty of hard tackling from the Coventry side who went for victory when firstly Matt Fielder ran in a try.

Kurt Johnson, followed, breaking down the left to score after Wesley ran in his third try of the afternoon. Ryan Jenkins added another and in the last minute, a ninety metre run by Andy Gregory saw him score to give Coventry Bears a 46-16 victory.
