Coventry Bears Rugby League Club thumped Leicester Phoenix for the second time this season with a 74-8 victory

Stephens (3), Whetstone (2), Hyslop (2), Smith, Allsopp, Clendenning-Fenton, Shaw, Pratt, Robinson all scored tries for Coventry Bears who have now won their first eleven Conference games on the trot.

Although the Carvell Bears dominated proceedings, Coach Ty Watson felt that more could have been done. He told the Bears website: "Tim Stephens and Aaron Jarvis were outstanding today in the second row and caused Leicester problems in defence and attack and Tim's hat-trick was just reward for his efforts this season.

"However there's still much work to be done and despite the convincing score line that was some way short of our best. We gave away too many penalties and our completion rate was shocking. We spoke after the game and the lads know that an opportunity was missed today and I'm glad we saved that performance for the bottom side. Having said that there were also a lot of positives today and it was good to try some new combinations."
