Leamington Win The M40 Derby

Leamington won the M40 derby this afternoon with a 3-1 home victory over Banbury United.

A crowd of 625 saw Taylor put the Brakes ahead with a goal in first half stoppage time. Tuohy added a second in the 70th minute and four minutes later, Blythe hit a third. Stone scored a consolation goal for Banbury in the 87th minute.

Rugby Town beat Uxbridge 4-0 in a Southern League Central Division match. Preston opened the scoring in the 45th minute. Ben Steane scored the second in the 69th minute before Hamilton found the net two minutes later and Wesley hit the fourth a minute after that.

In the Midland Alliance, Stratford Town won 2-0 at Dunkirk.

In the Midland Combination Premier Division, Southam United won the South Warwickshire derby 3-0 at Alveston with a brace from Milan.

Coventry Copsewood came from two goals down to snatch a 2-2 draw at Continental Star with late goals from Murphy and goalkeeper Scott Furlong who converted a penalty after earlier saving one.

Racing Club Warwick were beaten 3-0 at home by Cadbury Athletic.

Coventry Amatuers lost 5-2 at Stratford Town A in a Midland Combination Division 3 game whilst Future Legends who play at the Alan Higgs Centre were beaten 2-0 at home by Inkberrow.

All other matches were postponed
