Leamington Win Local Derby

Leamington claimed the bragging rights as they beat Nuneaton Town 2-1 in a BGB Southern League Midlands Division game tonight.

In front of a crowd of 1051 at the New Windmill, Levi Ramsey put the Treacle towners ahead in the 37th minute but Leamington were level five minutes later through a Mark Bellingham penalty. Eight minutes from time, Luke Corbett hit the winner for the Brakes.

Elsewhere in the Southern League Midland Division, Bedworth United lost 1-0 at home to Bromsgrove Rovers whilst goals from Dunkley and Wallison gave Atherstone a 2-1 win over Chasetown.

In the Premier Division, Rugby United lost 2-0 to Halesowen Town.

Other Midland Alliance scores saw Racing Club Warwick lose 1-0 at home to Friar Lane and Epworth. Midland Alliance leaders Market Drayton beat Bridgnorth 3-0.

Midland Combination scores saw a 1-0 win for Massey Ferguson at Heather St John. Skowieski scored the only goal of the game in the 78th minute. Chris Partridge got both goals for Nuneaton Griff in a 2-2 draw at Bolehall Swifts.
