Leamington Thrash Bedford

Leamington thrashed Bedford Town 5-0 tonight at the New Windmill.

Blyth scored the first in the eighth minute and the majority of the 345 crowd had to wait until the 31st minute when former Coventry City youngster Stuart Wall put through his own net.

In the second half, Husband added a third in the 66th minute with Luke Corbett hitting a fourth nine minutes later. Downes scored the fifth in stoppage time to keep Leamington in fifth place in the Southern League Premier Division.

Rugby Town beat Atherstone 3-1 in a Southern League Central Division game. Simpson opened the scoring in the 49th minute with Preston adding a second in the 70th minute. Weale pulled one back for the Adders in the 83rd minute only for Hoban to restore's VS' two goal winning margin two minutes later.

In the Birmingham Senior Cup, Bedworth progressed to the Semi-Finals with a 1-0 win over Rushall Olympic, thanks to a 26th minute goal from Craig Civellis.

Stratford Town drew their Polymac Midland Alliance League Cup Semi-Final 1-1 at Westfields. Sam Alsop put Stratford ahead on the half hour mark but Scott Jackson levelled in the 69th minute.

In the Les James Memorial Challenge Cup, a Ross Wimbush hat-trick helped Coventry Copsewood to a 4-0 win over Fairfield Villa.

In a Division One game, Kenilworth Town were beaten 7-1 at home by West Midlands Police and in Division 3, Alveston Reserves lost 3-0 at home to Aston.
