Leamington Lose But Stratford Win

Leamington FC were beaten 2-1 tonight in a re-arranged Conference North fixture.

Newton had given the Brakes a forth minute lead at Guiseley but the home side came back with goals in the fourteenth minute and 42nd minute to send Leamington to defeat in front of a crowd of 323.

Stratford Town beat Mangotsfield 3-2 in a Southern League South & Western Division game at the DCS Stadium.

Richard Gregory fired Stratford into a fourth minute lead with a penalty but a quick break saw Darren Edwards score to make it 1-1.

Stratford were back in front when Chris Sterling's cross shot somehow evades Sawyer in the Mangotsfield goal and before the break it was 3-1 when Gregory scored again.

Darren Edwards scored a second for Mangotsfield in the 64th minute as both sides went for more goals.

Stratford were awarded a penalty but Gregory hammered it down the middle but the keeper saved.

Mangotsfield laid siege to the Stratford goal but there was no more goals and Stratford took a 3-2 win out of an excellent game.

Southam United are through to the Birmingham County Midweek Cup Final after a 1-0 win over Atherstone Town.

Pavel Tomczak scored the only goal of the game in the 58th minute against an Atherstone side who finished with ten men when substitute Ben Ashley was sent off, having only been on the pitch for eight minutes.

Alvis were beaten 5-0 at Bromsgrove Sporting in a Midland Combination Premier Division fixture.

Whitnash are through to the Coventry Telegraph Final at the Ricoh Arena on April 30th after beating Folly Lane 6-1 in the Semi-Final.
