Last Heat Defeat For Coventry Bees

Coventry Bees Speedway Team led until the last heat but went down to a 48-45 defeat against Swindon Robins tonight. 

At Brandon, the Bees gave a debut to Michael Szczpaniak and took a 3-3 from the opening heat when former Bees rider Nick Morris fell off on the first lap.

The Pole got his first point for Coventry in heat two by coming third in a 3-3 and got his first win in the second of two 5-1's for the Bees to put them 16-8 up.

A re-run heat five saw Swindon take a 5-1 but it was soon cancelled out with a 5-1 in the next heat.

A 3-3 was followed by a 4-2 to the Bees after Morris fell off again and another 3-3.

The Bees wwre now ten points clear so in heat ten, the Robins gave Troy Batchelor a tactical ride. A 7-2 for the Robins reduced the arrears to five points.

That was down to three when Swindon took heat eleven 4-2. Heat 12 was a 3-3 and a 4-2 to Swindon saw the Bees now only a point ahead.

Heat fourteen was re-run and finished in a 3-3. seeing only one point in it, going into the final heat.

Scott Nicholls who had six points and Chris Harris who had seven points rode for the Bees but Bachelor and Andersen took control and rode for a 5-1 to Swindon to give them a 48=45 victory.
